To start with . . .
My intention with this blog is to help you to write more better. And, already I’m off to a bad start.
Restated: I’m here to offer you advice on how to communicate more effectively through the written word, especially when creating promotional copy and articles.
Now, I don’t fancy myself a master grammarian, or presume to rule as a dictator of style. I try not to be pedantic. But like you, I assume, I don’t want to see our beloved written language devolve into an unintelligible mess of acronyms, abbreviations and emoticons. So, there are rules to follow and style to consider. Spelling counts as well.
The most important thing to remember, however, is that writing should be exciting. It should be compelling. Because writing like that gets read, all the way to the end. That’s the goal, after all.
I’ve been a professional business writer for over 20 years. It’s what I do best and I’ve learned some things along the way. I’ll share them with you here and you’ll do well.
