What do I think I’m doing here?

Look up for a second. See that figure in the foreground of the banner? The shady character off to the right? He appears to have wandered into the collage by accident. Perhaps he’s trespassing.

That’s not the case. That’s me – the owner of this establishment and I’m there lawfully.

When a friend saw that picture she noted the pose and asked if my arm itched. Again, what appears to be true is not the case.

What you’re seeing is the awkward pose of someone who hates having his picture taken. It makes me self-conscious. And like the pacifist who inherited an arsenal, I simply didn’t know what to do with my arms.

Well, what’s it doing there then, you might ask.

I once read that a writer should include his picture on his website because people like to see who they’re dealing with. So even though people will suspect that they’re dealing with an eczema sufferer, there it will stay.

The upside of my photo-phobia is that I’ve grown comfortable working behind the scenes, shining the spotlight on others. That’s what you want a copywriter/journalist to do – take the who and the what that’s being featured and present them in their best possible light. Get their good side, as it were.

That’s what I do.
